Chicory packets from the oven

Ingredients

  • 8 stalks of chicory
  • 8 small stalks of red chicory
  • 8 slices of puff pastry
  • 8 slices of cheese
  • 8 slices of ham
  • handful of nuts
  • balsamic vinegar
  • salt and pepper

Method of preparation

Preheat the oven to 225 ºC (437 ºF). Thaw the puff pastry and, in the meantime, cook the chicory in a little bit of water for about 5 minutes. Then let the chicory drain well. Place a slice of ham, a chicory head, and a slice of cheese on each piece of puff pastry. Sprinkle the dish with a little pepper and salt, and fold the corners together with moist hands to create a package that is as sealed as possible. Place the packages on the baking sheet and bake them in the oven for about 25 minutes. Serve on a salad of red chicory and nuts. Garnish the dish with a little balsamic vinegar.

Tip: Optionally, you can sprinkle the package with a little grated cheese before putting it in the oven.
